Step 1. Join the video meeting with the link provided, or you can log in to www.meet.google.com   and click the button that says “New Meeting” and then select start an instant meeting.

If you wish to schedule it for a later time, you can do that as well.

Step 2. Once you have joined the meeting, click on the three dots located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4. Soon, a “Ask for Consent” popup will show up. If you are attending the meeting, you can record the meeting by obtaining the consent of all the attending members.

Step 5. Click on accept, and the recording will start.

Step 6. If you wish to stop the recording, all you need to do is click on the three dots and select stop recording.

Step 7. The recorded meeting will be automatically saved to the Google Drive of the organizer.

How to record a meeting if you are using a free version of Google Meet?

1. Record using OBS application

To record a meeting on the free version of Google Meet, you will need the support of a third-party application called OBS.

Although the default windows application lets anyone record their laptop or desktop screen, it won’t record the audio.

Here are some of the steps with which you could record the free version of Google Meet.

Step 1. First thing to do is to download and install the latest version of the OBS application.
